Approach shoes blur the lines between rock climbing shoes and walking shoes. They are that perfect combination of having something comfortable you can walk all day in but still scramble up technical rocky sections and do low level climbing in.

Approach shoes are loved by rock climbers and boulderers for accessing crags and having something secure to navigate approaches to climbs. Hikers also love them for more technical "scramble" hikes where a normal shoe or boot just feels to clunky.
