Andrew Lock Gives a Free Talk on Climbing in the Himalaya
Andrew Lock high on Annapurna
On behalf of the Australian branch of the New Zealand Alpine Club and Mountain Equipment, Andrew Lock is giving a free talk on climbing in the Himalayas. With 18 summits of peaks over 8000meters Andrew has more Himalayan experience than most of us would gather in 5 lifetimes and he knows how to tell a good story. If your keen to ditch the crowds of those who pay their way to the top, Andrew has a wealth of information about climbing at high altitudes, often solo, with no support and without bottled oxygen.
Andrew will be speaking on the challenges involved in transitioning from New Zealand to Himalayan and Karakorum mountaineering, and will be available after the presentation to answer questions. Copies of Andrew new book, 'Summit 8000: Life and Death with Australia's Greatest Mountaineer' will also be available for purchase.
