Description

The Edelrid Kestrel Pro Dry 8.5mm is an amazingly durable and versatile half climbing rope. Edelrid have created a perfect twin rope for trad climbing, alpine climbing or multi-pitching in the Gross Valley. Like all of Edelrid's Pro Dry treated ropes, the Kestrel features a dry treatment that is actually impregnated into each fibre of the rope; not just coated on the outside. This means that the treatment lasts the life of the rope and won't wear off in a few months. This makes alpine and ice climbing with the Kestrel a dream as it doesn't freeze up and become stiff through gear which is incredibly unsafe.

A half also comes in handy in different situations. Being a half rope, where you can clip each rope into different pieces of gear on their own, comes in handy on trad or long and windy routes where protection isn't in a straight line. This significantly reduces drag as each individual rope can run in a straighter path.
