I've used the TPS 520 on multi-day hikes.
The stiff soles offer a lot of support and stability over uneven terrain. I found them comfortable right out of the box and surprisingly easy to wear in.
The full leather upper is still supple and solid after many years of hiking (with regular TLC).
They're completely waterproof, even on long trips where regular re-proofing of the leather isn't possible.
These boots require regular maintenance (waterproofing and conditioning), and are quite heavy and warm compared to some synthetic alternatives.
These are hard-wearing boots for carrying heavy loads across rugged, remote terrain.
When Nina was 18, she caught the last bus from Lyon - but it was going in the wrong direction, and she ended up in Vennesieux, a spooky end-of-the-line suburb at midnight. Somehow, she survived, and now she drinks tea, blogs about her adventures, and works on improving her slacklining and crocheting skills.
