Description

The Exped Venus II Extreme is an absolute staff favourite and is strong enough to protect you alpine snow camping as well as ventilated enough for general bush camping year round. The Venus II gives ample space for 2 without compromising weight. Two entrances with cross ventilation and two fly vents make this Exped tent the one tent for all conditions, 3 and 4 season.

This Exped tent is an exo-skeleton tent, meaning the poles run on the outside of the fly. This is a HUGE advantage for extreme environments and gives an easy and strong setup with premounted canopy - there is no exposing the inner in bad weather when setting up or packing down, it sets up as one piece. The continuous and color coded pole sleeves on fly and easy adjust tension pole pockets add to features which come in handy when setting up at night, the snow, or in high winds.

The Venus II Extreme has a siliconised Nylon fly, not a polyester one like most tents. Siliconised Nylon does stretch a bit which makes it stronger in high winds as it has give. It is also extremely light for its strength.

Seriously, if you have to own one tent to do it all, this thing will take you from Aussie bush to the worlds high alpine mountains.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Hello. What is the warranty for this product? And why are there no reviews on any products?

Hello,  Thanks for the questions! So the Exped Venus II extreme has a limited 5 year warranty meaning it's covered for manufactuing and material deffects for 5 years and doesn't include wear and tear. Here is Exped's official wording: "Our UL ultralite products carry a 2 year limited warranty. All other products have a 5 year limited warranty. All outdoor products are subject to wear and tear under intense use as they are designed to be lightweight. Treat your gear with care."   This tent is under the "all other products" category.

As far as the reviews go, my simple answer would be that although we have some, not many customers come back and place reviews on products. We don't send follow-up emails like some companies asking people to review their product, mainly because I don't want to spam people but maybe it's something we could look into. It certainly helps others when looking at products.   We do have a bunch of staff gear reviews here: https://mountainequipment.com/pages/product-reviews If you're after a staff review specifically on the Exped Venus II Extreme it can be found here: https://mountainequipment.com/blogs/product-reviews/venus-2-extreme-tent I've also owned this tent (9 years) and can certainly advise all the ins-and-outs of it. I bought this for a 4 season tent but have used it for absolutely everything else  including backpacking cross Europe and summer hiking in Aus. It ventilates enough for summer camping but come time for winter it stands up to some hellish conditions. One of the best parts though is that because it has an exo-skeleton frame, it's super easy to set up and pack down in high winds, snow and rain.
