It's perfect for a lightweight puffy in moderate to cold conditions or as a mid layer in super cold and alpine environments. The VerticalX Superstrand fill is equivalent to 700-800 fill power down in it's warmth to weight ratio as well as it's compressibility. But being synthetic, you also get the benefits of traditional synthetic filled jackets in that it stays warm when it's wet, it's robust, and super easy to wash and care for.
